Square-Go, Scarecrow!

Room for one more?

For Silo the Scarecrow, no job is more important than scaring birds away from his precious apple tree. There’s just one problem; he is terrified of them. So, when the dastardly Roger the Crow comes along, the fate of Silo’s prize apples is in jeopardy!

For some time, I had wanted to attempt to create a Looney Tunes-styled cartoon that not only payed homage to such an iconic genre, but was its own thing as well. This proved to be a monumental challenge, but one that composer Moritz Wanger, sound designer Zoltan Kadnar and writers Richard Fullerton and Vladimir Krasilnikov rose to splendidly. Everyone was on board with this madcap tale, and the foundations of a really great, character-driven piece are in place.

With a stupendous, genre-nailing score from Moritz Wanger - recorded with live musicians at Air Studios in London - along with some brilliant sound design from Zoltan, all this project needs is a little helping hand to bring it to completion in full colour. With comedy, heart, suspense and surprise, this little film is the whole bushel… So to speak.
